Mechanic Zone Auto Repair – Terms of Service
These Terms of Service outline the policies and procedures for all automotive repair and maintenance performed by Mechanic Zone Auto Repair. By requesting service or leaving your vehicle with us, you agree to the terms listed below.
1. General Service Policy
Mechanic Zone Auto Repair provides professional automotive repair services for all makes and models. We aim to deliver honest diagnostics, quality repairs, and clear communication throughout the service process.
2. Estimates & Authorization
- All repair estimates are based on initial inspection and may change after further diagnostics.
- No repairs will begin without customer approval.
- Approval may be given verbally, in writing, by text, or digitally.
- Additional issues discovered during repair may require updated authorization.
3. Diagnostics
- Diagnostic fees cover the time and equipment used to identify issues.
- Diagnostic fees are non-refundable.
- Some issues may require extended testing or teardown to determine the root cause.
4. Parts & Labor
- We use quality OEM, aftermarket, or customer-requested parts when available.
- Labor is billed at our posted hourly rate.
- Special-order parts may require prepayment and are non-returnable.
- Customer-supplied parts are accepted at our discretion and carry no warranty.
5. Warranty on Repairs
Labor Warranty
12-month / 12,000-mile warranty on qualifying labor unless otherwise stated.
Parts Warranty
Manufacturer warranties apply to installed parts. Coverage varies by brand and part type.
Warranty Exclusions
- Customer-supplied parts
- Pre-existing damage
- Aftermarket performance modifications
- Neglect, abuse, or lack of maintenance
- Overheating, oil starvation, or fluid contamination
- Commercial or fleet vehicles may have reduced coverage
Warranty Process
- All warranty claims must be inspected at Mechanic Zone.
- Warranty repairs must be performed by us.
- Warranty does not cover towing, rental vehicles, or incidental costs.
6. Vehicle Storage & Abandonment
- Vehicles left more than 48 hours after repair completion may incur storage fees.
- Vehicles left over 10 days without communication may be considered abandoned under Michigan law.
7. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of service.
- We accept cash, credit/debit, and approved warranty provider payments.
- Vehicles will not be released until the balance is paid in full.
8. Warranty Provider / Third-Party Coverage
- We work with most extended warranty companies.
- Coverage depends on your provider; approval is not guaranteed.
- You are responsible for any charges not covered by your warranty company.
- Diagnostic fees apply even if the warranty company denies the claim.
9. Liability & Safety
- Mechanic Zone is not responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle.
- We are not liable for pre-existing mechanical issues or unrelated failures.
- Test drives may be required for proper diagnosis and verification.
10. Towing Policy
- Towing services are provided through trusted partners.
- Mechanic Zone is not liable for towing damage caused by external towing companies.
- Towing fees must be paid at the time of service unless covered by warranty.
11. Environmental & Hazardous Materials Fee
A small fee may be added to cover disposal of oil, filters, fluids, and other hazardous materials.
12. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact information.
- Respond to approval requests promptly.
- Pick up your vehicle in a timely manner.
- Maintain your vehicle according to manufacturer recommendations.
13. Changes to Terms
Mechanic Zone may update these Terms of Service at any time. Any legal changes or new requirements will be added or modified as needed.
